Income Tax Preparation (FREE!)

Lubbock Housing Finance Corporation provides administrative services for the Coalition of Community Assistance Volunteers (CCAV), a non-profit organization which organizes volunteers trained by the IRS to provide FREE income tax preparation services for elderly, low-income, disabled, and non-English speaking persons.

DURING THE 2003-2004 TAX SEASON, MORE THAN 5,500 PERSONS FROM LUBBOCK AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES WERE ASSISTED BY CCAV.

Tax returns prepared and e-filed at no charge if your income is less than:

Free income tax preparation will be provided each Monday thru Saturday from January 17 to April 14, 2006 at:

Persons wishing to have their 1040EZ, 1040A, and simple 1040 tax returns prepared for FREE must bring the following documentation with them to the VITA site:

If you have a checking or savings account, you may choose to have your refund deposited automatically and will typically receive it within 10 days of having your return prepared.  If you don't have a bank account or would rather receive your refund by check, you should typically receive it in less than 14 days.
