Lubbock Housing
Finance Corporation ("LHFC") was created in 1979
as a public, non-profit organization. Its
mission is to facilitate, in partnership with
the private sector, the availability of decent,
affordable housing for low-to-moderate income
citizens. Since its inception, LHFC has
issued hundreds of millions of dollars of
tax-exempt bonds to make homeownership and
rental housing affordable.

THE DEPARTMENT MAINTAINS A RECOVERY FUND TO MAKE
PAYMENTS OF CERTAIN ACTUAL OUT OF POCKET DAMAGES
SUSTAINED BY BORROWERS CAUSED BY ACTS OF
LICENSED MORTGAGE BANKER RESIDENTIAL MORTGAGE
LOAN ORIGINATORS. A WRITTEN APPLICATION FOR
REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE RECOVERY FUND MUST BE
FILED WITH AND INVESTIGATED BY THE DEPARTMENT
PRIOR TO THE PAYMENT OF A CLAIM. FOR MORE
